The Life Cycle of Leaves

Happy Weekend to everyone! This is a picture from yesterday's adventure at the lake before the sun set. I can't believe today was in the 60s this part of Texas is pretty awesome when it comes to winter time. It gets super cold a few days, and then it goes back to somewhat warm! I love it, but I wish the cold weather would stay here. The trees are all naked finally, no leaves, most are still laying around next to the tree they fell off. Kind of sad, but the next spring, more will grow and the cycle will repeat forever!

Reflections of the Sky

This is the last one for the night, I promise! I did the apps PicFrame and CameraPlus to make this beautiful creation! Water is magical, and the colors on it are amazing, reflections and the waves are beautiful! This made the Popular Page on Instagram! If you don't have Instagram, go get it, it's free my name on there is @roxsand  Like my pictures, follow me, and I will do the same! :) Everyone have a good night! Thank Goodness tomorrow is Friday!

Twilight

I stayed out at the lake for over an hour, just enough time for the sun to completely set. Twilight gave me many opportunities for the lake and shore and random plants around the area! If anyone knows what kind of plants these are, let me know either here or Instagram! I enjoyed taking pictures this evening, it had been a nice day, kind of warm for the last part of December. Once the sun goes down, it's a different story, the wind was cool coming off the lake. I forgot my jacket, but once I start taking pictures I ignore the weather!

Sunset is Magical

Thank God for days off from work! I went to the lake to spot the perfect sunset pictures, and I got a lot of them! I posted this one on Instagram first, because I was anxious and couldn't wait. I have to go through my memory card on my camera, so that I can see what all else I got. I will be sure to post more pictures later!

Had To Kick It Up A Notch!

So I posted the first picture earlier, it was slightly edited, but amazing still. I thought I'd kick it up a notch and I RE-Edited it, and then it was just epic! It looks like a tie-dyed shirt almost! So I posted this on Instagram, and the likes started pouring in. I made the Popular Page within 15 minutes of posting this, so now everyone can see it! I love Instagram, and if you don't have it, get it!

I've Got the POWER!

Random trip to Starbucks this afternoon and I saw my "favorite" set of power lines and took a picture of them as the sun is behind it, soon to set. I tried editing this way overboard, and it looked kind of good. I still didn't want to post it on Instagram, but I think I might should have! Oh well, there's always later! Starbucks was good my Caramel Frappuccino is amazing, and I am off for the next few days! My brother got me a Macro lens for my Canon Rebel XS so I get to play with the camera tomorrow! I am so excited!

Strange Clouds

Texas is known for it's storms and mostly "Tornado Alley". Texas weather can be sunny one minute, stormy the next, it's just that crazy! The clouds in this picture are crazy, they may have been passing clouds. We haven't had super severe weather this year but I wanted to post this anyway!

PicFrame and it's Epicness!

I just can't stop looking at these pictures and how amazing they are! PicFrame is one of the best camera apps on the iPhone. It's .99 cents in the App store, and there are some versions that are free, but I don't see them to be as good. I think Frametastic is free, and so is Frame Magic Lite and Photo Frame Maker. We stopped in an alley and the lighting was good and everything was amazing about it, but what wasn't amazing was the birds up on the power line. You never know when they're going to relieve themselves! Haha! Hope everyone has a good day!

A Wonderful Christmas!

This is a PicFrame creation I made last night (Christmas Eve). I drove around town and the top two are random places that had lights, and then the two bottom are essentially the same house, just different areas! They had an amazing lights display going on! iPhone takes amazing pictures, and I didn't think to take my Canon camera. It started to snow as I was driving around it was pretty amazing. I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas! I had a wonderful day, and I must say it was one of the best Christmases ever! I am so lucky to have my family, I would be nothing without them. My brother got me a macro lens for my Canon Rebel XS, and I am stunned. Brothers are seriously the greatest ever, and I can say that about mine, FOR SURE! Really and truly, I would be lost with Jonathon too, he's amazing, and he now has a blog! :) I hope everyones day was amazing! Now it's Monday morning, back to work later today. I wish I had a few more days to rest!

Merry Christmas!

I am a PRO at Procrastination! I put off Christmas wrapping and just did it at 4 a.m.! I really should do this sooner than I do, and I vow to do it early every year, but time gets away and then I am doing it last minute, as always! So I wrapped presents, iced the German Chocolate Cupcakes, and listened to Christmas music! It's going to be such a good day! Merry Christmas to everyone! :)

Christmas Eve!

It's Christmas Eve! It's snowing here in West Texas, which is a big surprise. We didn't have any rain hardly this year...but we are on our second snow! So it definitely looks and feels like Christmas, and now I am getting exctited! Presents have been bought, but they aren't even close to being wrapped! I had the idea for this mugs ever since I saw the mugs! They are so cute, reindeer trying to get ready for Christmas! I had some help from my brothers with these pictures. I sometimes doubt my Canon Rebel XS. My brother has a Canon 60d, and I must say I do love it. I wish it was mine, and MAYBE, just MAYBE (that's an impossible kind of maybe) he went and bought me one for Christmas! I'll act surprised if I do get one! Just kidding! But these picture turned out exactly how I had it in my mind! Merry Christmas Eve to everyone! I'll post more later today!

I will edit the settings later, we experimented with so many different settings I don't know which one we used!

The Shore

The Shoreline at the lake is amazing! Due to hardly any rain, the lake levels are dropping. West Texas doesn't have too much rain, being in a drought is rough. Yet another beautiful shot of sunset!

Vintage Car!

I'm such a night owl. I work tomorrow but I wanted to put a few pictures together in a PicFrame collage! I LOVE when there are several pictures in the same picture. I chose to do this because just down the street from my house there is a 1959 DeSoto Firedome, just down the street from my house behind a pawn shop. A man who lives in this town owns this, plus a few other classic cars! I had ALWAYS wanted to stop and take pictures of it, but today, with Laura, I had a wonderful reason to pull over, and the pictures are amazing. So PicFrame and some of my pictures, combined with CameraPlus made this! I added to Instagram, and made the popular page! I can't stop looking at this, it's just amazing!

New Year Girl Pictures with Laura!

I took photos of a gorgeous young lady named Laura today! There's a contest/competition (I don't know what to call it) that goes on at the high school. It's called "New Year Girl". It's been going on forever, even 10 years ago when I was in high school. I just know that they get some judges, there have been sports players and stuff and just all kinds of people judge to see who wins, and who gets first runner up and so on.    I must research this all but I took her pictures today! It was so so so cold, but we got through it! It was a good day! Just had to post a few!

Isn't she just gorgeous? All of the pictures came out amazing! I was kind of stressed when I first started because it feels like it has been a LONG time since I took pictures of people! It all turned out amazing! It was all good! So excited! It was definitely a good day! I'll post more of these later as I go through them!

San Antonio Texas

If you have never been to San Antonio, Texas, I highly recommend that you make a trip. You will fall in love! My mom's side of the family live in the area, and so we have been there many times. There is so much to do there, from the Riverwalk, to the historic sites, like the Alamo and the other missions.  We took a mini-trip this past June and we went up into the Tower of the Americas. Silly me, I didn't bother to take my camera with me, I just used my iPhone. We had been to the zoo earlier on in the day and so I was tired of lugging my heavy camera around. At the time, it seemed to be a good idea to leave the camera back at the hotel. Once we got up there, I regretted it! I got a bunch of amazing pictures from my phone, but it wasn't the same! This is the downtown area. The sun looks a little scary, but I love this picture! CameraPlus helped me transform this to be able to see. It was all just sun glare before I edited it. San Antonio is where I would love to live someday! This place is amazing!

Twilight Tree

It amazes me that everywhere I look, I have an idea for a picture. This evening, after work, I was going to head to Abilene to finish Christmas shopping - once and for all! I pulled up to boyfriends house and the way the sky looked behind the tree was amazing! I snapped a quick picture and then posted it on Instagram - after a few edits on the CameraPlus app! I highly recommend CameraPlus, it has so many beautiful filters and amazing features! I find that I used that more than any other camera app! Hipstamatic is pretty amazing too, but I don't use it too much. I go through phases where I just use one app, until I'm just tired of it. Eventually I decide to use another one!

Tomorrow I have an actual photo shoot, for the first time in a while! I have been so busy with work, so it's slowed down the amount of pictures I have been taking for families and stuff. There's a contest at the high school called New Year Girl, and I don't know the story behind it, I just know, I have a gorgeous subject! It'll be different actually carrying my Canon camera around for once! I'm used to just using my iPhone everywhere! So tomorrow I'll have a lot of pictures!!

Sunrise and Its Beautiful Colors

I took this picture a few weeks back, finally decided to post it this morning before work! Our boss had called a 6 a.m. mandatory meeting, which no one was thrilled about. It was cold, dark, and just getting up to go to a 30 minute meeting stunk! Once the meeting was over, we all went downstairs and out the front doors to leave, and I look up and the sky was nothing short of stunning! I hurried outside to get a bunch of pictures, I posted the one with just clouds a few weeks ago, but I hadn't posted this one yet! Once I had gotten pictures of the clouds, I was so glad that I had to get up and go to a meeting, because I would have missed out on this glorious sunrise! Who know what kind of amazing sunrises scenes I am missing because I'm in bed, asleep! :)

Purple Sunset

I was just messing around with CameraPlus on my iPhone and I made this sunset look amazing! The clouds were amazing that day, and with the setting sun, it made the horizon look like it was on fire! I just added a different filter to it to kick it all up a notch! Amazing! I just posted this on Instagram! If you have an iPhone, I highly recommend you download this app! It's free, it was recently named the top app for the year from the iTunes store! I love it, and it's highly addictive! Follow me on there @roxsand

Sunset At The Lake

Sunset is such a beautiful time of day! My favorite place to take pictures is at the lake, usually around the hours of sunset. Not only is it a time to think, but a place to think with nothing surrounding you but peace and quiet! Another added bonus, is all the amazing pictures you can take, with sunset having many colors. If there are clouds, it just adds to the effect! I took this one a few weeks ago at the local lake, which is a few miles out. I get a good shot every single time I go out there!

Vintage Camera

So my boyfriend's dad loves to collect junk, and it usually doesn't matter where he gets it from, he finds it, he keeps it. I managed to see this just sitting around, and of course I couldn't leave without taking a few pictures of it! It's a LeClic Tuff35mm All Weather Camera. The year these were out photography the world was 1989! They were manufactured by Concord Cameras, and I have to say, I was impressed that someone out there still had their camera sitting around, and finally decided to throw it out! However, it's in new hands. One mans trash, is another mans treasure!
