Awesome Blue Sky!

Ahh the dog days of summer, as they call July. I'm still in job hunting process, and so far I haven't heard a word. In this small town that I live in, it really is no surprise. There are so many people who are fighting for what jobs are out there.......so really I just need to be patient. Not too long ago, a few weeks ago I took this picture. I was sitting outside on the front porch and the sky was just epic. That amazing, beautiful blue summer sky with the puffy white clouds! So I wanted to come post this, and update because I haven't been on here. Funny thing is, I vowed to update this everyday! It's a work in progress, I know I can do it! :)

Morgan

Last week I had the pleasure of doing pictures for my band director back in the middle/high school! It was a wonderful day and I got so many pictures of their granddaughter Morgan, who is 7! We had a good day and only one person was harmed in the shooting of these photos, and that was Dora the Explorer. She was a chalkholder that rolled under my car and was crushed by my tire! Oops! Haha!

My First Maternity Session!

So today...or yesterday rather I did my first maternity shoot! I was so nervous the night before thinking about it, worrying about how it'd turn out...but as usual, my doubts went away as soon as I got behind my camera. I shot at new locations I have seen, but never taken pictures of!! My friend and old coworker Maricela is almost due, her growing family is expanding by one! So.....we took pictures at Abilene Christian University at Jacob's Ladder, this beautiful place to take pictures! Scriptures in stones, fountain, soft green grass, this place has it all! Wow! So we took pictures there, here's one from ACU. 

After about an hour and a half there, we continued on to another local campus. Hardin Simmons is another beautiful college on the north side of Abilene. It's not too far from Abilene Christian University! This place is amazing in it's own right. As you enter the main road you immediately see a pond with a bridge and water fountains and a gazebo! Another great opportunity to take beautiful photos! I must say I am really proud of these pictures, I have started going through them and I picked my instant favorites out right away. I showed her some of them when we took a break under a tree. I carried my laptop with me on this trip because you really can't see anything on my LCD display of my Canon! It's tiny and you can't see nothing! So yet again, I found another reason to fall in love with my MacBook Air! Anyway, here's my absolute favorite of the day!

Aren't they just beautiful? I'm so proud of these pictures. I'm confident that she will love them as much as I do, these are beautiful memories and I can't wait to see these pictures printed out and beautiful! Baby girl will be born in less than two weeks! :) Maricela makes pregnancy look easy! Not that I have ever gone through it, but when I worked at the grocery store, I saw numerous pregnant women who looked just plain miserable! She makes it look flawless and wonderful! I just love her! So there's my update I had to show off these beautiful photos! I'll post more soon! 

Spectacular Sunset

I know I have said it a billion times before, but I LOVE SUNSET! I didn't have any time to get to somewhere when there weren't any power lines or anything in the way. I stepped out the back door and looked at the sky, it was spectacular! The colors were just so beyond gorgeous so I decided to take a picture! Despite the power lines, it is beautiful!

Turtles Like Adventures, too!

I cleaned my turtle's tank today and since it was such a nice day, I decided to take her out and let her walk around! She got her exercise and I used this opportunity to use my camera! She's a red eared slider named Betsy, and she's 8 years old! Isn't she just the cutest?! 

She almost looks overjoyed to be running around on the ground trying to eat leaves and getting stuck under weird objects! I used my Canon Rebel EOS XS on these shots! It was a good day to be a turtle! Not camera shy at all!

Fisherman Part 2

I took this picture a few weeks ago, and I decided to put the Purple Haze filter on it. It was a beautiful filter, but I forgot that I had tried out this picture with more filters. I was going through my phone, deleting pictures and stuff, and I came across this one! It's beautiful! I used my iPhone for this! I just hit the Vibrant setting and this is what came out! It's so beautiful! I can't believe that I took it! I'm definitely going to have to blow this picture up and have it framed.

Spring Has Sprung!

I haven't been I this in quite some time. I ended up with the stomach flu after I healed from the wisdom teeth surgery! When it rains it pours! That's life! So, spring is almost here! Today is my youngest brothers birthday he turns 17 today! He was born on the last day of winter! So I took this picture last week the trees are starting to bloom and put of all the pictures I took, I liked this one the most, because of the sun rays my iPhone caught!

Fishing At Sunset

After being home all week to heal from the wisdom teeth surgery, I was going stir crazy! So today was my first day out in the world since last Thursday! Went to the lake, which is always a peaceful spot for me, that is one of the best places ever! There was a man who was pulling up to the boat dock, I guess he was done fishing. He fished from from near the dock, then I guess decided to continue and let his boat drift! I felt kinda nervous about taking a picture but once he drifted to the perfect position, I took a picture! Once I put it into Camera+ I tried all the filters and this is what came out spectacular!

Fleeting Moment During Last Moments of Sunset

I just stepped outside the back door to get some air, because the last minutes of day were happening. I took a picture of the tree with the sky behind it! I took this picture using my iPhone 4. I used Camera+ to boost the effect, I used the Clarity and Vibrant effect, and this the result! I made the Popular Page on Instagram! That's a highly coveted spot that all Instagrammers want to be! Everyone sees your pictures there! So, it was a shock to me, it's been a while since I made the Popular Page! Anyway, I went back inside after taking this picture, and after editing it, I went back outside, just a few minutes later and already it was dark! I went outside at just the right time, the fleeting moment, to snap this picture! So I'm pretty excited! I haven't been able to leave the house in a week now, recovering from Wisdom Teeth extraction surgery. So finding an amazing picture for use on Instagram has been tough lately! However, I do return to work next week, feeling better everyday! Hope everyone had a good day! Tomorrow is Friday! 

Photography and the Learning Road

A few weeks ago, I had a bad moment, and decided to delete every picture on my Facebook photography page I had created. I don't know what set me off, but I went just crazy! I shouldn't have done it, but tonight, I have decided to restart and strive to do better. Yes, I am an amateur photography, and I do have a lot of learning to do, and I will do what I can to learn more. The key to all this, is to NEVER STOP LEARNING! Everyone on this earth has hobbies that they love, whether it be reading, writing, photography, painting, sewing. Nobody has the right to judge you, or try to keep you from doing what you love. Just do what you want to do, and don't let anyone try to discourage you or stop you! That's not what life is about! I just wanted to type something inspirational for those who may be feeling down, or are in the dumps. Don't stop what you're doing, it's your life, keep on keeping on! Do what you love, and if someone has something negative to say, forget them! Who are they to determine what you do with your life? Anyway, this is just an inspirational thought running through my mind tonight!

I went to Abilene on Valentines Day to pick up the most amazing Star Wars candy hearts from Target! Target has everything! Heck yes! Anyway I was headed back to town, there was an amazing patch of clouds!

Snow In Texas

Today was a snowy Sunday! Snow in Texas is crazy especially in West Texas where it hardly rains, but it's snowed a few times this winter! I won a snowman out of one of those claw machines, and so I just sat him down on the yard and took a picture! Hopefully everyone in the area will be safe on the roads, because it's already getting icy. The craziest thing is, tomorrow.....it will be back up to 64 degrees! Only in Texas!

Power Hour

I have always loved taking pictures of power lines. The other morning when I discovered the sunrise was amazing and rushed from the house in hopes of snapping a picture, I passed this and decided to take a picture! I discovered a new app a few days ago, so I used it, along with Camera+. Its name is Transphotos and the effects on it are kind of weak, so after I applied the rainbow effect, I saved the image and opened it back up in Camera+ to lick up the effect.

Haven't updated in a few days, don't know how it happened, but here I am! I managed to catch a sunrise! Usually I am asleep for that magical start to every day! I know, I know, another sunset! It simply is the best time of day! After a stressful and tiring day, I needed air so I went to the lake and took pictures of the sunset going down! The lake is the best place to see scenery and think so it was a good choice for pictures!

Ford Focus Love!

My car looks like it belongs in an Ford Advertisement! My 2008 Ford Focus has been mine since the showroom floor at a Ford Dealership somewhere in Oklahoma! We have had so many good times and travels! I decided to take her picture, I named her Miley (not because of Miley Cyrus, but because of the amount of miles she got in such a short time!). Miley is posing in front of the sunset, and I used Camera+ to edit and mess with the colors. We are around 65k miles in the almost 4 years that we have been together, and I got her at 118 miles! A Ford technician once asked me where I had been, and I simply replied, "Everywhere, I bought my car so I could DRIVE it!" Haha. I love this car so much, it's unreal!

Moon Love!

So I was leaving the house and I saw how epic the moon looked, it seemed bigger tonight than normal! So I rushed into the house, grabbed the camera and took off to find a good spot to take a picture of the moon. I found a place, pulled over and got out. As I got it all into focus, I pressed the shutter button and it didn't click. I tried again, only to find that the camera said "NO CARD". I had to do a palm to the face smack because I couldn't believe it! I didn't have a backup either! So I drove like a mad person all the way back home, and by then the moon was up further and smaller, so I took this picture! I used my Canon Rebel XS. I used Manual Focus but I don't remember all the settings, It was in M mode, ISO was 100 and I just focused until all came out well! I put it on Instagram and within 25 minutes I got this message!

Oh sweet lovely Popular Page. Instagram must have recently changed the way that you get to the Popular Page, to let different people have a chance to be featured and discovered and see thousands of people see your work all at once! There are well over 15 Million users on Instagram. Everyone deserves a chance to be seen! I hadn't made the Popular Page in a while, and I'd forgotten how good the feeling is!

Purple Sunset!

Sunset again! I went to see the sunset because I got out of work at almost the perfect time to run to the lake and get a good picture! There were amazing clouds out today! I should have stayed until all the clouds above the horizon turned pink, but I didn't think about it. I just got a few shots and left as fast as I got there. But I did get good pictures!

Moon Love!

Last night as I was leaving work, I noticed how amazing the moon was, bright and bigger than normal. I rushed home and got my Canon Rebel XS camera and headed outside. I'm still learning a lot about my camera, day by day I learn something new! I had to figure out how to manually get the camera to focus on the moon. Auto shooting is good and all, but I want to learn to do everything manually eventually! So here's the moon at three different lengths! I don't remember all the settings!

I really love sunsets, as you can tell! This one is on the opposite side of the lake as the last picture I posted. The sky was so amazing that day! The original picture was washed out by the sun, you couldn't really see the clouds or water, but once I opened up Camera+ and started messing with the filters, it brought out the clouds and the water! I never expected the original to turn into this! Here below is the original picture!

Tower Of The Americas - San Antonio, Texas

This is the Tower of The Americas in San Antonio, Texas. This 750 foot tower has a restaurant and observation deck, with a gift shop, tower cafe and amazing water fountains at the base. This is one of the most recognizable landmarks in this great city, alongside the Alamo and the Missions. The Riverwalk is spectacular! If you haven't checked this out, you MUST go! I got to go up in the tower this past summer with my family! It was terrifying going up and then looking out of the elevator with a window! Heights terrify me, and once we got to the observation deck, the entire city was underneath! What a view! I made a collage of it once we got home. I don't remember what app it was, but I hadn't discovered PicFrame yet! All pictures were taken with iPhone 4! If you ever get a chance to go to San Antonio, make sure you go in the tower! There's a 4D ride afterwards and it's called "Skies Over Texas" it was interesting, I enjoyed the entire experience! What a great vacation this was, I miss it so bad!

Beautiful Day!

Today I was off work again, so I went out on another Photo adventure! So I stopped at the lake to get daytime shots! It was an amazing day 68 degrees and not a cloud in the sky! It was cold there at the lake though with the wind blowing off the water! The top two shots were taken with my Canon Rebel XS, there is no way I could get the Moon and a plane with my iPhone! The middle one and bottom two were by iPhone! I used PicFrame and Camera+ to put it all together!

Reflections are Beautiful!

Off work today so you know I had to go spend part of the evening at the lake! I got a lot of amazing pictures! I won't go crazy like I did last week and post them all in one swoop, because then I won't have any for days to come. I borrowed Jonathon's shades and put them on a rock and then my new lens made this picture possible! Sunset was gorgeous as always!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that everyone has a wonderful 2012! This isn't my picture, I just borrowed it so that I could post it and tell my followers/instagram friends that I wish them the very best in 2012! 2011 was a good year, and 2012 promises to be a good one! I have started my New Year Resolution today, which is to make better food choices to help promote weight loss. I am going strong today, I just gotta keep making the right choices and keep it up! Last year I did so good, but vacation derailed me. You can't go to San Antonio and not eat bad, I'm just saying! Once we got back, I was already derailed to the point I couldn't climb back on the train (so to speak). I'm working today, so hopefully when I get off this evening I will have a picture to post!
